OCCI and the Osaka business community wholeheartedly welcome 
the appointment (as of May 29th 2006) of Mr. Hidetaka YOSHIKAWA 
(President, Takara Belmont Corp.) as Honorary Consul of Chile in Osaka.  
We are exceedingly pleased to have this base of liaison established 
in Osaka for contacts with Chile whose popularity among our business
people and tourists are steadily increasing.　We will keep close 
contact with the Honorary Consul in the same way that we do with 
all Osaka-based Consuls General (currently of 18　Consulates General)
and other Honorary Consuls General/Consuls(29 before May 29, now 30),
thereby to serve the needs of the Osaka/Kansai businesses and citizenry.

1. V.B.T. with 26 New Participants has started online Stage 1
 of 2006 (June 1st)


With its Secretariat already based in OCCI, V.B.T. (organized by OCCI) 
has started online Stage 1 of 2006, which is a major program 
on the Internet for international business, with altogether 334
participant companies including 26 new comers mainly from 
“Creation Core Higashiosaka” (well-known for the mass of specialist
manufacturers with high technological skills) as well as some through 
the Secretariat. A great variety of displays are exhibited including 
machines, equipment, instruments, tools and parts/components,
or all those related with environment and information.
These contents should not be missed by any enterprises abroad seeking
business partners in Japan.

Currently we are accepting applications for participation in V.B.T. 
Stage 2 of 2006.

2. Global Venture Forum 06 −IT

Apart from GVF06-BIO (introduced in the MAY issue) which is more
bio-oriented, its twin event ‘GVF06-IT’ focuses on IT-related 
projects and is now receiving applications for participation.
Similarly it is conducted for participants to expand business networks 
through the opportunities offered for partnerships, joint development
or fund-raising.  Do take advantage of GVF06-IT, too!

- Main Program: 
　1) Individual Business Meetings (pre-arranged by GVF Secretariat)
