1.‘Drug Patent Online Marketplace’to be launched !

The‘Drug Patent Online Marketplace’, which is a patent technology distribution 
website specifically targeting the exchange drugs/drug candidates, platform 
technologies, reagents, and diagnostics, will be launched at the end of October.  

This is Japan’s first online patent marketplace for new drug development. The 
Marketplace invites companies and research institutes to register their sell/buy 
patent technologies.  Take advantage of this great opportunity to promote your 
patent for drug discovery to Japanese companies.

2. Global Venture Forum 06-IT (Nov.14-15, Osaka)

‘GVF06-IT’, an OCCI-organized international business-partnering program 
for start-up companies in the field of Information and Communications 
Technologies, and Electric and Electronic Devices, will take place at the 
Osaka International Convention Center (Grand Cube Osaka) on November 14-15 2006. 
   
Seven IT start-up companies from　four countries have been selected to seek 
joint-research, technology tie-ups, and other forms of collaboration with 
Japanese companies through the ‘Business Plan Presentations’ and 
‘Pre-arranged Individual Business Meetings’.  These pre-arranged meetings　
are a unique feature of GVF allowing participating companies to expand their 
business network with Japanese companies.

We invite you to take full advantage of this event by attending the 
‘Business Plan Presentation’ session where you can have the chance to discuss 
possible partnership tie-ups with seven hi-tech IT start-up companies through 
‘Individual Business Meetings’.  

Participants from overseas companies are also very welcome.  (Admission free)

3. OCCI International Division Reports

[Event Information]

Dec. 1 (Fri)  “2006 International Meishi (Business Card) Exchange Party”

- Venue: Imperial Hotel Osaka (Teikoku Hotel Osaka), 3F Empire Room 

The OCCI, in cooperation with The American Chamber of Commerce in Japan 
(ACCJ) Kansai Chapter, The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Japan (CCCJ) 
Kansai Office, and Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie Francaise du Japon 
(CCIFJ) Chapitre Kansai, welcomes the members of respective organizations 
and people of both the private and public sectors from various countries to 
the ‘2006 International Meishi (Business Card) Exchange Party’.  

This is the biggest international meishi exchanging opportunity in the Kansai 
region, with over 300 people in attendance last year.  This event will be a
